Pinparts

Privacy policy for Pinparts

Last updated: 9 October 2026

Pinparts is an app for Shopify stores. Merchants use it to show clickable parts diagrams on their product pages. This policy explains what data the app processes, where it is stored and when it is deleted.

Data about merchants

When you install Pinparts, the app stores on its server:

The app also asks Shopify which Pinparts plan your store is on. Payment is handled by Shopify. Pinparts never sees your payment details.

When you open the app, the server writes technical log entries: IP address, time, the address requested and the browser type. They are used to keep the service running and secure, and are deleted after 14 days at the latest.

If you write to us, we use your email address and message to answer you.

Your diagrams stay in your store

Drawings, hotspots, titles and the links to your products are saved in your own Shopify store, as metaobjects, files and metafields. They are not stored on the Pinparts server.

Data about your customers

Pinparts does not collect, store or track personal data of your customers. The diagram on your product page is delivered by Shopify and runs in the customer's browser. When a customer adds a part to the cart, that request goes to your own Shopify store, not to Pinparts. Pinparts sets no cookies on your storefront and uses no analytics or advertising tools.

Shopify can send apps privacy requests for customers (data request, erasure) and for stores (erasure). Pinparts answers them. Because it holds no customer data, there is nothing to hand over or delete for customers.

Why we may process this data

Where the data is and who receives it

We do not sell data and do not pass it on to anyone else.

When data is deleted

When you uninstall Pinparts, the app deletes your shop domain and access token from its server straight away. Diagrams saved in your Shopify store are handled by Shopify. Emails are deleted once your request is settled, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object to processing. Write to hey@tinoschlenker.de. You can also complain to a supervisory authority. In Austria this is the Datenschutzbehörde (dsb.gv.at).

This website

This page sets no cookies. It loads a font from Shopify's content delivery network. Your browser sends your IP address to Shopify to do that.

Changes

If the app changes how it handles data, this page is updated and the date at the top changes.
